An evening of fun and inspiration!

Now in its 38th year, the annual Family House Gala is a special celebration featuring a festive cocktail reception, gourmet dinner with amazing wines, a finely curated Live Auction, plus music, and so much more. Hundreds of dedicated supporters, corporate partners, friends, and volunteers participate in this annual fundraising event. This year’s special theme of “Ohana” (family) underscores the family-centered care provided by UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and Family House.

Honoring UCSF Chancellor Sam Hawgood & Jane Hawgood

We are thrilled to honor UCSF Chancellor Sam Hawgood and Jane Hawgood in recognition of their longtime leadership at UCSF and extraordinary dedication to Family House. Their understanding of the sick children and families served by Family House is profound: Sam, first as a neonatologist and now UCSF Chancellor, and Jane, as a social worker for many years, demonstrate an extraordinary level of compassion and generosity.

Founded in 1981, Family House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit pediatric guest house for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. More than just housing – it’s a home away from home, providing a supportive community and caring environment for the entire family while their child is undergoing treatment. Thanks to the generous philanthropic support of individual donors, corporations, and foundations, Family House provides all services 100% free of cost, for as long as needed while a child is undergoing treatment.
