Family House 2023 Year In Review

Published on December 28, 2023

What a year we’ve had at Family House! We’re filled with gratitude for all of the support we’ve received from the community this past year. Here are a few highlights…

In July, we lifted our Covid protocols and welcomed back events, volunteers, and community connection to the families staying at the house. Our Summer Carnival was a celebration of this – with bouncy houses, games, balloon animals, slushies and community support for families.

We also put on our 41st Annual Spring Gala and 29th Annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs fundraising events. We had an overwhelming amount of community support for both, and celebrated Family House with exquisite food, wine and laughter, meaningful dedications and truly spectacular auction items. We can’t wait to welcome you back for our 2024 events – save the date for our 42nd Annual Gala on May 18, 2024 and our 28th Annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs on October 19, 2024.

In August, we said farewell to Family House CEO Alexandra Morgan and welcomed Katherine Thompson as the new CEO. Thank you to all of our community members who joined us in celebrating this milestone, with a toast to our past achievements and to our promising future!

The fall and winter holidays were truly magical at Family House this year. From our annual Halloween party, where staff, volunteers and families all came in their best costumes, to our winter parties – complete with visits from Tony’s Pizza, the SFPD, Ronnie Lott, Bobby Thomas, Santa, Michelle Brasch and friends and so many amazing volunteers! We’re able to bring the holiday spirit with dinners, presents and special events to families because of your support.

We can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for Family House!
