Craft Project #1: Leprechaun Hat

First, we’re going to make a Leprechaun hat. For this project, you will need:

  • A paper plate
  • A piece of green, black and yellow (or gold) construction paper
  • A glue stick
  • A pair of scissors
  • Green crayon or felt tip marker

Instructions

  1. Color the paper plate GREEN!
  2. Take the green construction paper and roll it into a big circle
  3. Tape the sides together so they make a circle (cylinder)
  4. Cut a 2 to 3” side strip of black construction paper
  5. Wrap the black strip around the bottom of the green cylinder
  6. Cut out a square from the yellow (or gold) paper, then cut out the middle of the square so it looks like an open rectangle
  7. Glue the yellow/gold rectangle to the black strip.
  8. You have a Leprechaun hat!
  9. Now make a circle on the green paper plate the size of the cylinder and place the cylinder on the glue so that it sticks
  10. Voila!
