Rock The House FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions | 39th Annual Family House Gala: Rock The House

What is included with each ticket? Each virtual ticket will include a link for your entire household to attend Rock The House. You will also be registered to bid on our amazing live auction and donate to Family House.

When is the latest I can purchase my ticket? November 13, 2020, 11:59pm PST

I bought my ticket. Now how do I access the event? A link with instructions to login will be sent to the email you used to purchase the ticket by November 14, 2020. You will need to pre-register a credit card in order to access bidding, but will not be charged unless you win an auction item or make a donation. If you don’t receive your link, please reach out to Anoushka Donnelley at adonnelley@familyhouseinc.org

Is my donation tax deductible? The virtual tickets priced at $150 are 100% tax deductible. Sponsorships are tax deductible minus the fair market value of goods received; detailed receipts will be sent to each sponsor.

Should I purchase multiple tickets for my family? While only one virtual event link is needed per household device, all ticket proceeds will benefit the families of Family House and are 100% tax deductible. We appreciate the additional support through the purchase of extra tickets for your family.

What type of at-home technology do I need in order to attend the virtual gala? A computer with working sound is all you need! But to really Rock the House, we recommend connecting to your television and/or external speakers for front-row-seats!

How do I connect my laptop to my TV?

  • If you are using an Apple computer, and have an AppleTV, then simply use the Airplay Feature to wirelessly connect.
  • Or, use an HDMI cable to hook that up your laptop* to your TV directly, which also passes the video and audio. Most of the time, it acts as a dual-monitor–so simply click-and-drag your web browser over to the right, and keep going until it’s extended onto your TV screen. *Many of the newer Mac laptops do NOT have HDMI ports, so you would need to purchase a dongle that has an HDMI port on it.
  • For external speakers, bluetooth speakers can be connected wirelessly to your computer for an optimal auditory experience
  • If you have a speaker set up at home for your TV, you likely have a receiver that has multiple inputs. Many have RCA inputs that would work with this cable by simply running from your laptop’s auxiliary hook up into the speakers’ receiver.

How will I be able to donate and bid on the auction? After you have purchased your event ticket, please register your mobile phone number and credit card information by clicking “Get Started”. Then you will receive a personalized link to bid on your mobile device or tablet.

What items are available to bid on?  We have seven incredibly unique auction items you can bid on now (if you have your event ticket already) and make your plans to win on Saturday, November 14.

Who do I contact for sponsorship opportunities? Please contact Jill Davis, Chief Development Officer at jdavis@familyhouseinc.org.
