A Home Away From Home

My son Kingston had to undergo a liver transplant at five months old. We were so grateful to stay at Family House — it was a beautiful, safe place to stay during his treatment, and they truly made us feel like family.

The most meaningful part about volunteering here is seeing the families be able to just come in and grab a meal. Giving them one less thing to worry about meant a great deal to me, and I am sure to them as well.

Family House is always the first place I think of when I can lend a hand. The care, heart, and support they provide to families is truly unmatched — it’s a special organization with incredible heart and soul.

Unfortunately cancer doesn’t come alone, it comes with bills and driving to the hospital. We are very blessed to have a place to stay, with warm food while our daughter is receiving chemo. Driving 275 miles each way is hard with a sick child.
