We are welcoming some new faces at Family House San Francisco!

Over the last few months, we have welcomed three new Hospitality Services Coordinators to our team of talented Hospitality staff. The Hospitality team is an integral part of Family House—they are the first stop when families come to the house for the first time, after a long day at the hospital when they need to talk, or even just for playtime with the kids in the halls.

We are so glad to welcome Andrew, Landyn, and Vanessa and proud to have them on the team.

Introducing Our New Hospitality Staff at Family House

These new family members of our hospitality staff are an important part of Family House, and we want to share a bit about them and why they have decided to join us!

Andrew Cauilan

Andrew was raised in Concord, CA, and loves to dance, cook, watch movies and cheer on the Golden State Warriors! He teaches at a local dance studio in San Francisco in his spare time.

Andrew wanted to come work at Family House because his partner had a similar experience in childhood and talked about the challenges she and her family faced in traveling to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals for treatment. He’s grateful that he can be part of a team that supports families and can help to make their experience a more positive one.

“My favorite Family House memory is attending opening night for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Family House received tickets as a donation, and we brought some families to attend the event. It was great to see them outside the house and hospital environment, enjoying their time together at such an amazing show!”

Landyn Cheeseman

Landyn was born and raised in San Diego and has lived in the Bay Area for about a year and a half. He aspires to become a child life specialist, so working at Family House was an easy decision for him.

His favorite part about being in the house is engaging with all the courageous kids and their families and seeing the power of love, patience, and bravery. In his spare time, he loves anything and everything that has to do with art! Painting, sculpting, and graphic design hold a special place in his heart.

“I could not think of a more rewarding position than to serve the community that Family House supports. Being able to welcome these families with open arms has inspirited me to continue making favorite memories with them daily.”

Vanessa Le

Vanessa is from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. She describes her hometown as romantic, breathtaking, beautiful, and crowded! She loves to cook, especially Vietnamese food for her family.

Vanessa loves seeing the kids and families at Family House having a good time. Her favorite memory so far has been the Holiday Parade in December because all of the kids were excited for their special visitors!

“I wanted to work in an environment where I can discover more about myself, contribute, learn, grow, and brush up on my communication skills. At Family House, I have the opportunity to do all of it!”
