Magical Winter Wonderland at Family House

This year has thrown everyone for a loop but we are making sure families can enjoy the wonder of the holiday season safely and socially distanced. The entire 2nd floor courtyard at Family House San Francisco has been transformed into a beautiful and magical winter wonderland. When you arrive, you are immediately greeted by Frosty the Snowman and Sir Nutcracker each towering over 7ft tall. They light up and are so excited for you to enjoy the magic.

Next you will make your way to holiday light lane to celebrate all holidays this season together.

Care, compassion, and community is the spirit of the season and what Family House is all about. We welcome one and all to participate in their respective holiday traditions.

Just ahead, is the thrilling snow park playland. Our adventurous friends – penguin, polar bear, and deer – are riding the snowy slide through twists and turns. Be careful, not too fast guys! They love to have fun and sometimes can be seen having wheelchair races throughout the house.

Observing all of the excitement is a lovely illuminated deer family with buck, doe, and fawn enjoying the garden space. Delicious garden greens abound for a satisfying meal and they meander the meadow all season long.

While you are visiting the spaces make sure to check out all of the beautifully lit trees throughout the area. Holiday lights are strung all the way from the 5th floor down and across the entire courtyard by Family House Director of Facilities, Ung Ly. The light magic is beautiful and really brings home the magic of Family House.

The stunning grand finale is Santa’s Circle. You are invited through a twinkling 10ft tall Christmas arch into the magical space. Santa is in full work mode getting ready to deliver presents to all the children with his reindeer Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and of course everyone’s favorite, Rudolph. Santa’s sled and reindeer team spans an astounding 17ft long. Before they travel on Christmas Eve, Santa and the elves worked day and night to construct a gorgeous 13ft tall Christmas tree for Family House and all of the families. They hung strings of twinkle lights and hundreds of bright shinny ornaments to sparkle the night away. Atop of the tree is a large star that can been seen from 3 stories above.

The whole space is designed for families in need to experience the magic of the season in a safe way.

We hope you enjoy this holiday season and that you and your family are safe and healthy. May the new year bring hope, joy and happiness.

From all of us at Family House Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings!
